Now that all the hubbub, brouhaha, and hot air of the Academy Awards has blissfully blown by, a more levied view of lauded programming can be taken. PBS’ POV released its annual “Best of Documentaries” list the day after the Oscars. Thank you PBS. (Though I will say, the PBS list concurs with the Academy that Searching for Sugar Man is the best of the 2012 lot.)

And, for what it’s worth, I started Queen of Versailles (#3 on the POV list) and couldn’t get past the first fifteen minutes; yet, somehow–miraculously–I made it all the way through Horrible BossesMayhap I’m just too “Housewives of _______”-reality-televisioned-out. (Versailles felt like an extension of that franchise to me.)
