I’ve been making my way through Producer to Producer (from the indispensable house of Michael Wiese Books) by Maureen Ryan (Man on Wire, Project Nim, many more) and while the book won’t receive any accolades for its prose, if you’re looking for a no nonsense, nuts-and-bolts tome on producing, this is an excellent resource and well worth the cover price. I had the good fortune of attending a breakout session in conjunction with Silverdocs, “Behind Network Acquisition Strategies” (or something like that, the title didn’t exactly roll off the tongue) sponsored by WIFV.
